A meaning belongs to a sense
Definitions and examples appear together with their part of speech. When a spelling has multiple bundled senses, use the selector to choose one. Saving keeps that exact sense; a later corpus edit does not silently rewrite your prepared lesson.
Practice recall deliberately
Review your selection, then start Meaning Recall. Reveal the word first, recall an answer, and choose Reveal Answer to compare the saved definition or designated note. Entries without a real answer must be prepared or removed before the session can start.
A random word generator with definition and examples
Open Meaning beside a word to see the bundled definition for a particular sense. Read the example, choose a different sense if necessary, then save that snapshot. This helps separate knowing a spelling from understanding its use. For vocabulary practice, collect a short list and try recalling each meaning before revealing the answer. Word Sources explains the licenses and recorded review status.
Questions about this tool
Are these complete dictionary entries?
No. The Lab includes selected senses and short examples, with sources and review limitations documented on Word Sources.
Can I supply my own meaning?
Yes. In the workspace, write a note and designate it as the recall answer. The Lab does not invent meanings for custom entries.
